"Lines of Lode" is a contemporary jewellery and sculpture exhibition by Aimee Bradley, Christine Collins and Jenny Johnstone.

The exhibition presents a series of new works that draw inspiration from the unique landscape, vibrant community, and rich history of Broken Hill.

Aimee Bradley’s pieces utilise steel frame forms to support intricate jewellery works that reflect the architectural and historical essence of Broken Hill. Her works delve into the industrial heritage of the town and emphasise the deep connection between the community and its residents.

Christine Collins incorporates materials directly influenced by the mining processes in Broken Hill, including ore, mining waste, and metal sheets. Her works, featuring folded elements, echo the geological phenomena of the Line of Lode, highlighting the natural stratification and structure. Further, her pieces such as "Hold, Hang, and Ascend" examine the intersection of industry, community, and the natural bush environment of Broken Hill.

Jenny Johnstone has captured the essence of the arid landscapes that define the outskirts of Broken Hill through extensive fieldwork at locations like Fowlers Gap and Mutawintji National Park. Her works are a testament to the stark beauty of the area, focusing on the scale, colour, and line quality of the landscape.

The exhibition not only showcases personal reflections and responses by the artists to their experiences in the Broken Hill area but also invites viewers to contemplate the broader implications of place and identity in art.

The opening night event is at the Broken Hill City Art Gallery on Friday, 3rd of May, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. The evening will feature artist talks and full bar facilities.

There will be an curator and artist talk at the gallery on Saturday, 4th of May, from 10am.
